Suggested Attendees: This course is valuable for all personnel involved in the planning, development and execution of an industrial budget.
The goal of the course is to produce a greater understanding and appreciation for the need and power of highly effective budgeting and cost control measures.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop the student will have a greater understanding and be able to:

• Explain and demonstrate what a budget is and its primary purpose.
• Explain how the budgeting process and Performance Management are part of an overall Asset Performance Assurance program.
  
• Explain the role of risk management in the budgeting process and how to better apply risk management.
  
• Explain the different types of budgeting along with their advantages and disadvantages.
  
• Explain the meaning of Budgetary Stewardship.
  
• Explain how to develop a Performance Assurance program that includes the application of quality controlled business processes, including the budgeting process.
