(Reuters) - Facebook will pay a fee of just 1.1 percent to underwriters of its initial public offering, a source with knowledge of the company's plans said on Monday. News that the payout would be much slimmer than the typical underwriting fee came as Facebook executives highlighted the engagement of its massive user base during a meeting on Monday with about 100 analysts, investment bankers and others involved in the IPO.

(Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc said on Monday it agreed to buy Kiva Systems Inc for $775 million in cash, a deal that will bring more robotic technology to the e-commerce company's giant network of warehouses. (Reuters) - Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook, moving swiftly after taking over from the late Silicon Valley icon Steve Jobs, fulfilled a longstanding desire of investors by initiating a quarterly dividend and share buyback that will pay out $45 billion over three years. (Reuters) - The owners of the cash-strapped New York Mets baseball team agreed to pay $162 million to settle a lawsuit by the trustee seeking money for the victims of Bernard Madoff's fraud, averting a potentially embarrassing trial. The pact was announced in District Court in New York just as the trial was set to start. The trustee had accused the Mets owners of turning a blind eye to signs of Madoff's fraud while enriching themselves as long-term investors in his funds -- accusations the team's owners denied.
