-  02Dec(Reuters) - Stocks extended gains on Thursday after data showed pending sales of existing homes unexpectedly surged in October.
 At the same time, the euro rose versus the dollar, erasing early losses as investors focused on comments from the European Central Bank related to the euro zone debt crisis.The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 69.85 points, or 0.62 percent, to 11,325.63. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX added 8.54 points, or 0.71 percent, to 1,214.61. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC advanced 15.87 points, or 0.62 percent, to 2,565.30.
