(Reuters) - The Dow rose more than 1 percent in morning trading on Tuesday, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq added to gains above 1 percent as U.S. and Chinese data drew investors into a market that has been through six weeks of sharp declines.
The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 122.23 points, or 1.02 percent, at 12,075.20. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 14.83 points, or 1.17 percent, at 1,286.66. The Nasdaq Composite Index.IXIC was up 35.49 points, or 1.34 percent, at 2,675.18.(Reporting by Caroline Valetkevitch)
