(Reuters) - U.S. stocks pared gains in early Monday trade, with the Nasdaq index turning negative weighed by Amazon (AMZN.O) and Priceline (PCLN.O).

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 24.64 points, or 0.22 percent, at 11,217.22. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX rose 1.78 points, or 0.15 percent, at 1,200.99. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXICwas down 0.84 points, or 0.03 percent, at 2,517.37.
