(Reuters) - The Dow and the S&P 500 were trading higher on Monday, led by gains in materials and financial stocks.
The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 4.65 points, or 0.04 percent, at 12,600.40. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 2.44 points, or 0.18 percent, at 1,340.21. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXICwas down 6.43 points, or 0.23 percent, at 2,822.04.(Reporting by Angela Moon, Editing by Kenneth Barry)
