The New York Times Co (NYT.N) reported its third-quarter revenue fell almost 3 percent as advertisers and readers pulled back on spending.
The publisher of the namesake newspaper and The Boston Globe said on Tuesday that revenue was $554.3 million, missing analyst's expectations of $560.3 million according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
The New York Times posted a third quarter loss of $4.3 million, or 3 cents per share, compared with a loss of $35.6 million, or 25 cents per share, a year before.
The company's adjusted profit, which excludes a charge for printing facilities in Boston and pension obligations, was 7 cents per share beating the street view of 5 cents per share.
